Chinese Kindergarten was the first kindergarten in 1921. A Chinese primary school was established to cater to the graduants of the kindergarten in 1922.
The Second World War disrupted the education scene throughout the country. On 10th October 1945, classes resumed at The Chinese Kindergarten. A branch was further set up in Jubilee Church in 1946.
In 1978, the primary school division was closed due to falling enrolment. In 1991, the main Chinese Kindergarten then moved from its Tras Street site to the branch at Jubilee Church. Since then, Chinese Kindergarten has been operating at its present site.
Since being the first kindergarten set up in 1921 to provide education for the local children, we have come a long way. Today, the preschool has well-trained teachers, a rigorous curriculum and a wide-ranging set of programmes (childcare services available). We believe in the holistic development of each child in his or her growth and the importance of having a good balance of academic knowledge and non-academic skills such as social skills and play.
