Parents' Testimonials

We have so many good things to say about the Chinese Kindergarten! For a start, we want to thank CK for making school a safe place and a great learning environment for Alfie.
We went around scouting for many schools in the area, but we saw with our own eyes that CK was the only school that really made the effort to help Alfie settle into school. I think that really ticked all the right boxes and assured us how much CK truly cares for the kids.
That’s not all! We love how much emphasis CK places on children learning to appreciate their Chinese language and cultural roots. We are not from a Chinese-speaking family but just a few months into school, Alfie's mandarin vocabulary has expanded plenty!
We are sad that we are into Alfie's last year in school and we will really miss all the staff in CK. Thank you for making school such a safe and peaceful environment for our kids and leading our kids with love and compassion!

Transition to primary school had been a breeze. The P1 camp prepared Kai well. Kai was able to adapt to the new environment and what to expect: to buy food during recess, a bigger school environment and so on. I also like buying stationery from the school bookshop! I enjoyed PE lessons the most. I am also excited to be appointed the class monitor in P1.
Chinese Kindergarten has prepared Kai very well for Primary 1. The same can be said for Kian 3 years ago. I like the fact that Chinese Kindergarten prepares the child well but does not over-prepare the child. For my family, no regrets at all in sending our children to Chinese Kindergarten. They each had enjoyable four years in the kindergarten with tons of good friends made and fond memories to last a lifetime. More importantly, the values they learnt and character development they underwent at CK are priceless.

Chinese Kindergarten has helped Elizabeth to develop a joy of learning. I hope that this would make her self-motivated and enjoy her learning journey. The curriculum has prepared her well for primary one. It is well-paced such that the children do not feel stressed yet are able to accomplish quite a lot.
Chinese Kindergarten has incorporated Chinese cultural activities in the curriculum that make Chinese heritage relevant to Elizabeth, and has helped to increase her interest in the Chinese Language.
As Christians, we appreciate the Bible stories and teaching of godly values in school as it reinforces what we teach at home. It also helps when she sees that the teachers whom she loves and respects also believe in God. Elizabeth has learnt many Christian songs in school, and we especially appreciate being introduced to 赞美之泉worship songs for the children which are meaningful and memorable. As a parent, I find a Christian preschool education very important in complementing the home environment to help children to accept Christ into their lives. The years in a Christian preschool can plant a seed in them that might grow eventually.

Six years ago, my husband and I were looking for a preschool that would be suitable for our boys, who were approaching four years of age. Even though we are not a Christian family, I’ve always believed that a church kindergarten would impart better values to children than a non-church preschool. By God’s grace, I was introduced to this kindergarten by a neighbour whose daughter was studying there. A few visits to the school convinced both my husband and I that we could place our trust in the school.
Indeed, it was proven that we had made the right choice. Both Jerrick and Jensen enjoyed their time in Chinese Kindergarten, though like typical kids, they screamed and cried during the first few days of school. Jerrick was later diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and I was thankful that the teachers, Madam Chen (陈老师) and Miss Seow (now Principal), together with Mrs Wong (then Principal) asked that we brought him for an assessment so that early intervention could be given. Even so, the school did not show any prejudice towards Jerrick. On the contrary, they continued to provide him with a safe school environment to learn. The teachers took good care of Jerrick and even got his classmates to watch out for him. The school accepted him for who he was and did not give up on teaching him. Tears would well up my eyes whenever I saw Jerrick performing with his classmates during the annual concerts.
As for Jensen, he has grown into a more confident boy and he still remembers his days in the Chinese Kindergarten. Teachers who had taught him – Madam Chen, Miss Seow, and Madam Chung are people he still remembers dearly. He always talks about how Miss Seow kept encouraging him not to give up, and how Madam Chung helped him learn his most dreaded subject – Chinese!
The school had
given my children a lot of opportunities to learn and grow, in particular
through their enrichment programmes (e.g., Entrepreneurship). In fact, both Jerrick and Jensen were two of
the fortunate kids who could pick up inline skating in their preschools, much
to the envy of their friends. Jensen also found a few close friends in the Chinese
Kindergarten and they are still in touch today!

motor skills.
Over the past 2 years, I see great improvements in his character development. He has grown to become
a polite, well-mannered and responsible little man who has a sense of compassion for others.
With this, I credit it to Chinese Kindergarten on emphasising on character building over academic achievement.
